American Romance

For my first post, I will simply say welcome. This is my father's fault. He started a blog, thus shaming me into starting my own. He will probably be alone in reading this, and since I love discussing politics with him, all the better. And I take it as my responsibility, not to change his (or anyone's) political or economic perspective, but rather focus them on the American Romance. This term I have devised to describe the love between the populace as individual and the country as a whole. And it is important to remember in this election season, that this romance is alive and well. And a whole bunch of us (the majority at this point) is reveling in our love. This is not a product of the country agreeing with me, or the candidates I cheer, but rather the product of the system, the people, and the civility of it all. She may not always be pretty, but she's always loved.
